Made For Walking

Finally, a decent work for the weekend. Was getting kinda depressed with the last two pieces I turned out. The concept for this one came to me when I wrote in an earlier post about how my drawing of curves seem to be a path of some sort and then the image of dorothy and her shoes popped into my head.

The idea of a journey has always attracted me greatly, but a journey not necessary has to mean a change in geography, it could be something more sublime like the growing of your soul. Looking back, it seemed to me I have gone a loong way to where I am today and I'm glad that particular journey had taught me plenty of stuffs.

Be.Loved: Fishing for Love

Some times, the wait for true love to come along can be a really long and boring wait.

Note: An accidental result while I was fiddling with the line works in photoshop. Kinda quirky effect though. Although not too satisfied with this piece too. I guess I shall end the series here with thsi piece.

Be.Loved: Isabella

Another piece from the Be.Loved Monster series.

Life is pretty ordinary for Robert, who works as an accountant in the city. That is until he died. All he wanted was a second glimpse, but some times life just get complicated.

Note: Slightly disappointed with how this piece turned out. The coloring was kinda off and after an entire day of fiddling I still couldn't get it right. Sigh.

Angel

One of the perks of my job is that I get to do what I love during office hours. Was researching on different art styles for an up-coming game project for the Singapore Police Force and doodled this after a very very long and eye-popping period of research on many many talented people. And of course there was the usual diversion into the curves which resulted in those whitish flame thingees.

For those who don't know, it was my first game project with the police which fired me up to become a really good illustrator. You can catch a glimpse of my first foray into illustration at the completed game here, although looking back now I cringed when I go through my works then:P.

Start. Love Begins

I've always love to draw curves. Endless lines that meandered around physic equations, elaborate shapes that ran unfrettered across my books. Over the years, after being exposed to so many mediums and genres of art, I've always gone back to my curves and pencil, an automatic action that seems detached from my brain's orders. Perhaps I'm thinking the lines might lead to some far away place and I can go on a wild adventure of sort to the ends of the world. my very own little red shoes

Note. Was doodling away during breakfast and came up with this sketch. Feels a pretty unfinished to me but I couldn't bear to throw it away because as ash would put it "it's so me". Did some light photoshop to it, looked around for a nice background and voila.

Introducing Mr Smokey

Don't you hate it when after tolerating some annoying behavior (lol train doors rushing aunties, sloooow waitresses, the list goes on) for a long while, just when you decide to square up and comfront the irritant (:P) he or she stops doing whatever he is doing that is irritating you and you are left hanging in the middle of your sentence, an idiot without a cause.

Introducing Mr Smokey. Hopefully, I can develope an entire story around him. Started out as an experiment on on drawing faces and ended up as a full-blown coloring experiment.

Be.Loved: Waffles

Its not everyday you find yourself face-to-face with a genuine wolf-boy, let alone an albino one. But look past the snarling lips and very big claws, you will find that Waffles is just like everyone else, looking for that one person to understand him.

Note: Tried my hand at some proper coloring of the my lines work. Although still much to improve on, am feeling rather happy on how this turned out.

Be.Loved: Andres Finds Love

This is actually the first drawing that I've completed for the Be.Loved Monster series.

Andres the Octopus is your typical sensitive misunderstood creature of the night. And all he wish for is some love for the looong cold nights below the waves.

Polka Dots

My first "foray" into alien abduction (the non invasive kind of course:P).
Say hello to Jim, the traveling toothbrush salesman who has a really really bad case of fashion faux pox. ( is it me or does or bad things happen to salesman only:P)

And Ivan the Alien makes a debut appearance albeit through his teleporter beam.
And meet the pioneer of vocal camouflage:P

Be.Loved : Meet Ivan

Meet Ivan the Alien! =)
One of the "monster" which I did for my Be.Loved Monster series (Everyone just want to be loved)

In addition, meet Moosoo the Cow. A frequent target for non-invasive abduction (mostly its just a cup of grass shake and some lengthy questionnaires on love), he has recently taken up a course on vocal camouflage to preserve his quiet lifestyle. Although ..... :P
